Investing in our employees' growth and development is an important part of building a strong, capable workforce. Hillman leverages its Learning Management System (LMS) to provide employees with the training and resources they need to develop professionally, enhance performance, and maintain compliance. In 2025, we implemented a new LMS in phases, delivering an improved user experience, updated course offerings, and expanded multilingual training resources. The new platform provides a centralized learning environment that supports both personal and professional growth.
The Hillman Leadership Institute complements these efforts by developing leaders at every stage of their careers. Through three targeted leadership programs, the Institute helps employees strengthen their leadership capabilities, build business acumen, and prepare for future opportunities within the organization.
IMPACT Program –
Designed for new managers, the IMPACT Program accelerates leadership development by providing foundational training in leadership, business
acumen, company policies, and management best practices.
Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) – Created for individual contributors aspiring to management roles, ELP equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and experiences needed to successfully transition into leadership positions.
Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) – Designed for high-potential leaders, ALP provides advanced leadership strategies and development opportunities that strengthen organizational leadership and prepare participants for increased responsibility.

At Hillman, a clean, safe workplace is a core responsibility that extends beyond our facilities to the communities we serve. Through strong training, accountability, and leadership engagement, we ensure associates work safely and responsibly wherever they operate.
World-class safety requires full participation. Our corporate team designs programs, while leaders across the business execute, measure, and support improvement.
Compliance is essential, but success is defined by reducing injuries, equipping associates, and building a safety-driven culture.
Engagement and leadership are key. Our Safety Steering Committee meets monthly to assess progress and adapt plans, while activities like the annual MHE Rodeo and Safety Bingo keep safety visible, fun, and connected to overall well-being.
At every level, we share one goal — sustaining a culture of safety that protects our people, customers, and communities.

Health & safety
The health, safety, and well-being of our people remains a top organizational priority for Hillman.
We maintain full compliance through jurisdictional training, active Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs), safety representatives, and more. Regular emergency drills including fire, evacuation and shelter-in-place, help to ensure safety preparedness alongside certified First Aid responders and on-site equipment such as Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), eye wash stations, and fire extinguishers providing immediate response capabilities.
To maintain high standards, we conduct routine inspections, track performance through status report cards, and reinforce safety through standardized policies, procedures, and training. These efforts are supported by a centralized safety management system.
An all-in-one safety software, fully implemented since 2024, designed to foster a strong culture of safety, while supporting full regulatory compliance. This system helps us manage safety more effectively and engage employees at every level, all the while ensuring accountability, enabling data-driven decision-making and reporting transparently.
Looking ahead, we are enhancing sprain and strain prevention through targeted ergonomics training and risk-reduction measures as part of our new safety effort - Safe Motion Dynamics (SMD). Frequent and multi-lingual training, videos, posters, and other forms of awareness have been deployed cross-organizationally. Programs like SMD, with continued engagement, will help keep safety top of mind throughout Hillman.
