The Transponder Key program is probably the most significant change in the
automotive replacement key industry since the Cubs won the World Series. In
1995, only a couple of vehicles introduced in the United States were using
Transponder Keys. Today over 50 percent of the vehicles being produced use
this new security technology and it will continue to grow.
For Hillman to continue as a leader in the
replacement key business, we are introducing our Transponder Key program.
Included on this page a Adobe Acrobat files that contain the tools necessary
for you to be successful in Transponder Technology.

As you read through
the above literature, you should notice that the only real difference in a
Transponder Key is that once the key is cut you will have to program the key
to the vehicle. This can be done by using on-board programming procedures
for read-only blanks or by using a RW-2 Reader/Coder for read-write blanks.
Our goal is to provide read-write blanks when
ever possible. Unfortunately due to some patents, some blanks will only be
available in read-only form. That is why we offer on assortment of
read-only keys and two assortments of read-write keys.
For those of you who wish to take a wait and
see approach or may decide not to cut transponder keys at all, should
consider purchasing a TD3A Transponder Reader. Transponder keys are not as
easy to identify as one may think. The TD3A takes the guess work out of it. |

RW-2
The RW-2 is a multifunctional tool that can
read the electronic code and duplicate that code onto another key. If the
code is known, it can be entered into the keyboard and transferred onto the
replacement key. The mechanical cuts of the key can be made on a standard
Hillman key machine. Plus, the vehicle does not have to be present to
generate a new key.
- Portable, small and lightweight
- Can be used as a Transponder Detector
- Easily updated
- Contains built-in Keyboard and Display
- 12V DC
- Rechargeable Battery
- Security is built into the system in the
form of a unique password for each unit

TD3A
This is a simple reader that allows you to
detect if a key has a transponder chip in the head of the key. Many
Transponder Keys look identical to traditional rubber head keys therefore it
may be difficult to see any visible difference between them. Without this
detector you could make the mistake of creating a key that works
mechanically but will not start the car. Using the TD3A will help prevent
loss of customer goodwill and a key blank.
- Can be used to verify the presence of
transponders in the head of keys prior to cutting
- Excellent tool when combined with
Read-only Transponder replacement keys and OBP procedures
- Compact, easy to carry and the 9 volt
battery is included
- Quick and easy to use
